In light of the recent settlement by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Brightland Homes reaffirms its dedication to maintaining strong relationships with the brokerage community. The settlement, resulting from a class-action lawsuit filed in Missouri by home sellers, has introduced potential changes to the real estate landscape. Brightland Homes plans to maintain in communication with the Realtor community as increased opportunities arise from this ever-evolving industry landscape.

Brightland Homes commitment to working closely with the brokerage community remains unwavering, regardless of the outcomes. Our strategy includes ongoing support and cooperation with brokers. We will continue to engage closely with agents and provide transparent communication as developments unfold.

The class-action lawsuit, which targeted NAR, Anywhere, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Keller Williams, and RE/MAX, alleged that real estate commission rates were excessively high due to NAR’s cooperative compensation rule. In response, Anywhere and RE/MAX have collectively agreed to a $138.5 million settlement, with Keller Williams contributing $70 million to the settlement funds for affected sellers.
